February School Board Meeting: The next school board meeting will be held tonight in Gunnison (Monday, February 11th) at 5:30 p.m. There will be a remote viewing option at CBCS. February 11, 2019 BOE Regular Session.pdf 

Job OpportunityThe Crested Butte Community School kitchen still needs another team member! This position is scheduled to work Monday-Friday while school is in session, 32.5 hours per week (8:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m.). The wage is based upon experience and qualifications. Compensation also includes 10 paid holidays, 9 paid annual leave days, $25,000 Life Insurance policy, and 100% of your single health care premium paid by the District. Guitar Concert Fundraiser: The CBCS Music program is in need of donations to present our Guitar concert at the Center for the Arts here in town. The Center has graciously lowered costs for us, and we have set a goal of $150 to raise before our concert. If you would like to donate, please feel free to do so through MyPaymentsPlus (under the Donations tab - CBCS Music), or checks made out to CBCS, with "Music" in the memo line. We will gladly accept donations in any amount. Please feel free to contact Mrs. Bunting (cbunting@gunnisonschools.net) about this fundraiser. Thank you!

Counselor’s Office

Sophomore Nights: Tuesday, Feb. 12th and Wednesday, Feb. 13th at 6:00 p.m. Please plan to attend to receive important and timely information for your current sophomore.

SAT Prep Class for Juniors: CBCS is once again hosting a Princeton Review SAT Prep Class for juniors. Class sessions will be March 27 and 28. $125 cost includes five hours of direct instruction, extensive online practice tools, and a graded practice essay. Grief Support Group for HS Students: CBCS, Living Journeys, and GCSAPP are collaborating to provide a grief support group, The Phoenix Circle, for high school students. If your high school student has recently experienced a loss, please consider this free opportunity. Sessions will begin the week of March 4th. Specific time will be determined once we have all participants identified. To sign up, contact Jennifer at: jread@gunnisonschools.net. 

ASVAB Testing Opportunity for Juniors: The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) will be offered by the school district in Gunnison on Tuesday, February 26th. This test is a great opportunity for any juniors wanting to explore military careers. The test will be free, and CBCS will provide transportation. Please let Jennifer know if your junior is interested in testing. 

Summer High School Science Course: Rocky Mtn. Bio. This event provides a safe, inclusive, alcohol and drug-free alternative for our high school students at a very special and important time in their lives. This FREE evening features professionally-managed blackjack and craps tables, outrageous inflatables, laser tag, team games, snacks, breakfast and incredible prizes. Students Inspired by Literature: After reading the book Refugee by Alan Gratz, a group of 4th grade students want to provide assistance for Syrian refugees. Please help support the millions of Syrian refugees by donating clothes and individual use (hotel size) personal hygiene items such as shampoos, soaps and lotions. Boxes for donations will be in front of the library entrance and in the hallway between the two 4th grade classrooms. Thank you for your contributions.
